Hi everyone,

I have been trying to help a Katrina survivor and her 2 1/2 year old
son locate their missing dog, Little Bit. Lisa lost 2 other dogs in
the hurricane and when she and her son went to get on a bus to
evacuate with Little Bit, the bus driver would not allow the dog on
the bus. Lisa said they lost everything and Little Bit was the only
thing her son had left in this world. She says her son asks her every
day "Where's Little Bit", but she has been unable to find him. She is
living in a hotel and she says between trying to get a car and put
their lives back on track, she has only had limited time to search for
him. She is very distraught and mourns for her pet. She said it is
like losing a family member.

I have been searching the internet for days and days and
thought maybe I would post here in case anyone has seen this dog or
one that resembles it. Here is the detailed information on Little Bit:
He is a male, half-Maltese, half Shih Tzu, black & white, weighs about
5-7 lbs. and is 3 years old. He has long hair and his markings are
black ears w/white face, black on back of the head, then white just
below the back of his head, then black again in the middle of his
back, then white towards his rear-end. His tail is fluffy with a mix
of black & white.

Lisa said she had to leave him underneath the Causeway overpass on the
I10 in Metairie, LA. She said it was close to a field across from the
Galleria.

Since "Katrina Dogs" are being moved to the Lamar Dixon to other HSUS shelters, they will have to make room for them.
Please go to your local shelter today and offer to foster one of their dogs - it will save a life - and help to make room for these Katrina dogs that are coming in.
In essence, it is the same as fostering a Katrina dog.
All the shelters are going to feel the Katrina impact, so save a Katrina dog there in your home town.
