Thank-you letter
from Seneca Falls Humane Society.
I want you and your readers to know is what we saw in
New Orleans!! I felt like I was back in Africa or Bosnia -
where there is little concern for life, human, feline,
canine, any kind of life. The vulnerable- the old, the poor,
and pets left behind often because their people were
promised they'd be cared for - were left injured, dying in
their homes and on the street.

Subject: Foster a dog NOW for your
local Humane Society
Since "Katrina Dogs" have been moved to
other HSUS shelters, they will have to make room for them.
Please go to your local shelter today and offer to foster one of their dogs - it
will save a life - and help to make room for these Katrina dogs that are coming
in.
In essence, it is the same as fostering a Katrina dog.
All the shelters are going to feel the Katrina impact, so save a Katrina dog
there in your home town.
The Snowball angle softened the official ''leave all pets behind" evacuation
policy. Displaced people leaving New Orleans have been allowed to travel out
with four-legged companions. Some of the evacuees who landed on Cape Cod arrived
with their critters -- ''including several mutts, a Pomeranian, and a cocker
spaniel," according to the Globe.

American's poured
their hearts out to find this tiny dog and re-united this family
I DO
NOT THINK THE CBS DOG IS SNOWBALL.
I think the CBS footage is of
another white dog (not Snowball) that is owned by this elderly woman.
Just in,AP reporter
Mary Foster states; "after the bus left Snowball was taken to and
locked in a stair
well in a Shopping Center by the Superdome!. She saw Snowball their a few times, one time the ASPCA
was their to pick up animals and Snowball was gone! "
I just called her, and she was too busy to talk with me! she put the phone down.
So was this poor
Snowball ?a day later? this photo was taken on a Nikon 9/3 at 7.33pm dirty tired and hungry thirsty.
So Snowball was NOT placed in a stairwell but was wandering the streets
alone . The MYSTERY DEEPENS is SNOWBALL
REALLY SNOWBALL ? read here
Whomever
took these photos ? they must come forward...this dog could belong to an old
lady and its name
is NOT SNOWBALL

of Snowball not allowed on the bus, scroll down

Many of the people who donated to
find Snowball have requested we hire a detective, so we are going to do just
that!.... $3000
will go to the individual or Rescue Organization who saves and returns
"Snowball" safe and sound to his owner.
$10,000
will be given to "Snowballs human family so they can
be all be re-united, as very few shelters allow pets. Any other donations
will go into the general fund to help the other Katrina Animal Victims. |
Thanks
for all the work you are doing to keep this issue alive and serve as a
lifeline...it's all the more important as a means of honoring those that
were not saved in time or at all... We are the animals voice....to be
silent equals complacency.
New picture just in, could this be the dog ?
A single paw on the
wheel as the bus pulls away.
Huge pieces of
America have been obliterated in the last four years, the bus has left, and
it's too bad we don't give dogs the vote. By Paul Ford
I
can't forget Snowball. I know there are so many abandoned animals, and
Snowball represents all of them to me. In that single moment, when he was
not allowed to be saved, we all became so much less human to me. How did we
even allow that to happen? How can we ever recover our humanity after that?
I don't know. Snowball appears to have vanished and we are faced with the
stark reality that, once the moment passed and the opportunity to step up to
the plate was gone, we can never regain that opportunity. For Snowball's
sake and in his memory, if you ever see an animal in need, don't hesitate.
Don't think about the "rules" -- just do what needs to be done.

The Snowball story got wide media attention and caused a significant change
in the evacuation policy. Eventually, people were allowed to take out their
pets. Even if Snowball is gone forever, the dog's legacy does not melt away.

Unfortunately it does
not show the little boy.
These photos appear to show evacuations from the I-10
causeway near the
Convention Center.
The little boy who survived 5 days of the Hell Hole once known as
the Superdome with the last connection he had with his former life,
his little dog, only to have this dog torn from his arms as he was
loaded on a bus to Houston. His distress – on film – was such that
he vomited.

http://www.savejustone.com/ I had nightmares last night after reading
about a tiny white Poodle being torn from a little
boy's arms because it was not allowed to get on a rescue bus.
This dog may end up in a shelter, rescue group, or found by an individual.
If this dog can be returned to the little boy and confirmed, I will donate $500
to the reward.

"Snowball! Snowball!"
the boy cried until he vomited. The policeman told a reporter he didn't know
what would happen to the dog.
The fate of pets is a huge but underappreciated cause of anguish for storm
survivors, said Richard Garfield, professor of international clinical nursing at
New York's Columbia University.
"People in shelters are worried about 'Did Fluffy get out?'" he said. "It's very
distressing for people, wondering if their pets are isolated or starving."
