Thank-you letter
from Seneca Falls Humane Society.
I want you and your readers to know is what we saw in
New Orleans!! I felt like I was back in Africa or Bosnia -
where there is little concern for life, human, feline,
canine, any kind of life. The vulnerable- the old, the poor,
and pets left behind often because their people were
promised they'd be cared for - were left injured, dying in
their homes and on the street.

Subject: Foster a dog NOW for your
local Humane Society
Since "Katrina Dogs" have been moved to
other HSUS shelters, they will have to make room for them.
Please go to your local shelter today and offer to foster one of their dogs - it
will save a life - and help to make room for these Katrina dogs that are coming
in.
In essence, it is the same as fostering a Katrina dog.
All the shelters are going to feel the Katrina impact, so save a Katrina dog
there in your home town.
The Snowball angle softened the official ''leave all pets behind" evacuation
policy. Displaced people leaving New Orleans have been allowed to travel out
with four-legged companions. Some of the evacuees who landed on Cape Cod arrived
with their critters -- ''including several mutts, a Pomeranian, and a cocker
spaniel," according to the Globe.

Lloyd and Rosemary Griffin
have been reunited with
their poodle, Tanya, from
whom they were separated in
Texas after the evacuation
from New Orleans.

They will reunite Saturday.
Tonya a 10 year old tiny poodle
and her family Mr. and Ms
Giffins 80 years old......
( Katrina Found
Pets/Puppymillrescue, will
pay to have her Right Eye
repaired it was damaged when
she was in the water )

The 2 elderly Griffins,
68 ish in age, were trapped
in their house in New
Orleans and the water kept
rising.
The wife couldn't swim. They
climbed to the attic and the
husband bought a hand axe
with him and chopped a hole
in the roof.
He then cut some electrical
wire and tied it around his
wife and hoisted her onto
the roof.
The house eventually started
floating away for a few
blocks then started to tilt
towards the water. They
jumped off and floated for
another 2 blocks until they
reached land he said. The
wife clutched the poodle all
the while.
They somehow were rescued
and taken to the dome or
somewhere like that where a
bus took them to Texas.
Apparently they were able to
take or hid the poodle, I
don't know which. Anyway at
Texas they loaded them on
another bus to take them to
Ok, but they wouldn't allow
the dog to go this time.
The dog was handed to a
person with a rescue of some
sort, he thought it was the
SPCA of Kentucky for some
reason. He was very upset
and crying.
Well now there is to be a
reunion next week according
to the k9rescue lady who has
fostered the poodle. I spoke
with her today, Allison said
the poodle had been in a
shelter for a week prior to
one of her volunteers
rescuing it from the
shelter. That in itself was
something considering this
poodle is 10 years old and
has cataracts.

They will reunite on
Saturday around 11:00 am -12
noon
Mr Griffin has been in in
the hospital due to
dehydration, as he has heart
conditions and is a diabetic
and not feeling well this
week.
I am excited, yet torn with
emotions as I will miss this
little Tonya I have come to
love so dear! She has been
an inspiration all over
again for me, about rescue,
and why I do this.......Hugs
to ALL that have helped me
make this possible for the
Griffins, and the little 10
yr old white poodle named
Tonya! GOD BLESS!
